A Kai, loosley translated from Dwarvish as king, is a ruler that is bound by a council or a committee. The title passes from father to son, and forms the base of the dwarven laws and rules. Kais are not only considered as rulers by birthright, but also as those who are considered to be best fitted and best educated for the role.
