Kingdom of Lantan

The Kingdom of Lantan was a highly advanced Gnomish kingdom that ruled over the island of Lantan, south east of Lisang.

History

The kingdom was funded by a group of gnomes that fled the continent in hopes of building themselves a safe haven on the then uninhabitable island. They built walls around the shores and begon to dry the swaps inside by planting trees that require constant hidration. This tactic has proven effective and the land was found to be extremely fertile, enabling the gnomes to support a large population.
Word left the island and by -1000 the kingdom was already home to over 1.5 million gnomes. They built their dwelings into the now dried lands and reinforced the walls with a mix of sand, water and clay, making them waterproof. This was not ideal, however, as the walls required constant maintenance and prone to collapse if left untreated for long.
The kingdom had trade relations with both the Kingdom of Darseras and Kingdom Of Dohas, but few evidence is left for the exact details former and even
The island is a hot spot for archeologists, enchanters and Artificers who look for buried technological and magical knowledge left by the gnomes.

Disbandment

In 748 The kingdom was destroyed by a series of giant waves that submerged the island for 2 day and washed almost all the infrastructure and buildings into the Cruel Sea. Most denizens of the isle perished, save for few who manged to escape to the mainland in whatever means the could muster, falling prey to slavers and bandits that awaited them on the mainland's shores.

Both Kingdoms shared important trade and research agreements. Darseras was a major supplier of goods the Lantan, after the Battle of the Second Sun the island struggled to maintain its production.
