Magecliff

Magecliff is a small port village on the Isle of Darseras. The village was founded by wizards that wanted to live close to the tower but not inside it, and serves as one of the only three arrival and disembarking point for non-members visitors of the order.

Demographics

The entire population of Magecliff is comprised of Conclave's wizards with the rank of Magus or above. The sole exception is the captain of the CSV Variana, who is charted by the Conclave and may only leave the ship for loading or to perform repairs.

History

Following the grow in power of the Conclave of Magi, some wizards wished to live near the tower but not inside it, citing political relationships and research necessities as the main reasons. The Conclave, so far not venturing far from Darseras ruins, agreed and in 698 appointed a Magus-Tir to charter and survey the island for a suitable location. After an entire year, a location was found in the northern side of the isle that allowed for relatively easier access to the Darsal Sea from the jagged cliffs that surround the island. Magecliff was founded 701 as the only port of the isle with its denizens restricted to those with the rank of Magus or above, a law that is still in effect today.
