Spellbook
Mechanics & Inner Workings
Spellbook pages are called made from enchanted velum that is extremely sturdy and resilient to the elements. When copying a spell, the page form a 'memory' inside the page. A caster can then link this memory to his brain, thus "preparing" the spell to be used. This method allows to cast magic from reflex memory, instead of performing the entire inscribing processes each time they wish to cast a spell. While the method limits the caster to a select few spells, it creates less tension in the caster's mind and is much less demanding than free casting.
