Tribough Enclave

The Tri-bough Enclave is a druidic circle in the kingdom of L'anth which operates with the power of the crown to preserve and protect the Caligo Jungle and it's wildlife.

Beliefs

The Tribough's core beliefs revolve around the animism, believing that all objects, places and creatures have a distinct spiritual essence. They worship the spiritual essence of the Caligo, known to them as Lis'Caligo.

Scaled Trees

The Scaled Trees are special trees found throughout the Caligo jungle. They usually stand between 6 and 10 feet, smaller than most of the trees found in the jungle. Their bark is a comprised of dark green, reflective scales. Each tree always has 3 branches, which where the Enclave derived its name. These trees are scene as sacred beings, and members of the Enclave use them to commune with Lis'Caligo. At the heart of the jungle stands the Mor'Scaltra, an enormous scaled tree which the enclave believe to be the Lis'Caligo's heart. Only the high ranking members of the Enclave are permitted to commune at the Mor'Scaltra, many receive visions or powerful gifts of magic.

Dinosaurs

It is the belief of the enclave that dinosaurs are the oldest creatures in the world, and are sacred creations of Lis'Caligo. They are never to be eaten, and are always treated with respect and utmost care. They are the companions of the elves in the jungle, and their relationship should be mutually beneficial.

Structure and Ranks

The Enclave has a strict hierarchy of ranks and systems for recruitment and advancement.

Recruitment

The Enclave is very selective in their recruitment of new members. They recruit elves at a young age, usually around 14 - 18, and will approach elves from all walks of life. They scout the cities and villages for elves who show a higher than usual care or attunement to the jungle around them. The seek guidance from the Scaled Trees to guide them to promising new recruits. Once they have found a promising individual, they will approach them and offer them a choice, to leave behind their old life in service of a higher calling, or to refuse and stay where they are. Accepting means leaving behind everything, and inheritance or family name, any money or power you or your family might have must be dropped. If the recruit accepts, then they are assigned as an apprentice to an established member of the Enclave, usually whoever scouted them in the first place.

Apprenticeship

New apprentices shadow their master for 5 years. They learn by following and observing, and doing whatever training the master sees necessary. The training is largely up to the individual master and can vary between them. Every year the Enclave meets, and apprentices are observed by the high ranking members of the Enclave to assess their progress. After the first year, a new apprentice is given a dinosaur companion to care for and train. This is to strengthen their bond with the jungle and to give them more responsibility. Once the five years are complete, the final step to becoming a full member of the Enclave is to embark on a pilgrimage into the larger world, learn about the wonders of nature that exist beyond the jungle, and then return and present what you learned and experienced before the rest of the Enclave. This practice is to ensure that the members of the Enclave are not ignorant to the rest of the world, and that they do not become to stuck in their own world.
