Xander's Ragtag Band
Many of the legendary heroes came to power during the first Dark Age. Two such interesting folk were a team, the half-elf Imlach and the gnome sometimes known as Xander. These were happy-go-lucky fellows who sought their fortunes in dungeons and cities or aboard ships. Well known for their sense of humor and their sticky fingers, they gained untold wealth. Imlach built a great trade city on the east coast of Loderr and produced even more wealth. The Free City of Imlachton is still known today as a wealthy and dangerous place where the greatest pleasures, and the largest variety of goods, can be found. Today the city leader is still known by the name Imlach.
Imlach loved being in the spotlight but Xander did not. Once the city was built, Xander seemed to disappear from history. There are those, however, who know an alternate history in which Xander became a prominent, if invisible, leader. Xander generously volunteered to oversee the construction of the foundations of Imlachton, Imlach laughed out loud and chuckling, signed the order. The strange team Xander put together included hill giants, goblins, people of all races, and so was called Xander's Ragtag Band. There were many secret rooms and passages and, it is rumored, an entire underground fortress!
Xander had, during his adventures, made many friends (and enemies too!) These "friends" quickly formed a hierarchy through which goods and services were moved, with Xander on top. From his travels in the Nambir desert, he called the scheme a "pyramid." The organization was such that small units at the base could be captured without knowing anything about the higher echelons. Though millennia have passed and there have been wars and turmoil, it is rumored that Xander's Ragtag Band still has it's tentacles throughout Loderr.
