Bela Weiss
Very little about Bela Weiss' history is known, and that which is, is suspect. It is unclear if Bela Weiss is her given name but, if it is an alias, it is one she uses frequently.
Weiss appears to have been an independent facilitator for a number of smuggling organisations, including Transtep International, but first came to the attention of the authorities during the incident on the ESS Ortien in 1923.
At this time, Weiss had been formally employed by the University of Kilarivies, Kanmaa, for four years, and had been working as the personal assistant to the Head of Thaumatology, Professor Augustjin Maessen. During her time in this position, Weiss used her authority and her employer's contacts to collect information about the location and security arrangements of selected arcane artefacts, which were stolen on demand for wealthy patrons.
Two passengers, misters Alford Steiner and Magni Oavánson, and one crewmember, steward Iolana 'Akamu, were kidnapped by the pirates, and were found several weeks later, having retrieved the stolen artefact.
Neither Hannaf nor Weiss have been seen since, but both must be considered to remain at large.
