Kher-heb D’thau

She Who Writes the Truths

Kher-heb D’thau, twin sister of Erupatem.   The Sorceress Supreme. The Mad Goddess.   Unlike other Exotic Gods, she is the only one who willingly shares her power with lesser beings. She is worshiped by witches and magicians, though they may not know it. Kher-heb D’thau is said to have a million forms each with their own mind, wishes, desires, and ideas.   Kher-heb D’thau gives out a specific set of rules when accessing her power, which is called “heka” or “magic” by the lesser beings. These rituals are designed to allow magic into the mortal world and make remarkable changes, but Kher-heb D’thau can enhance or deplete the heka rituals at will, should it please her.   It is said her madness is what causes her to share her power freely, but some scholars and cultists believe she has to share her power to sustain her thoughts, otherwise the million minds will consume her.   Heka practitioners are often priests or priestesses of Kher-heb D’thau. There are several covens and brotherhoods dedicated to the Sorceress Supreme, but they typically worship various versions of her, thus causing confusion and strife among other practitioners. The magical effects of heka range from influencing weather to obliterating cities depending on who is using it and which of Kher-heb D’thau’s minds is replying to the practitioner’s plea.
