The Black Book of Briarcliff
Bound in old, crumbling leather and stained black as coal, the Black Book of Briarcliff is an old diary of a psychologist at Briarcliff Asylum. Inside the aged and fragile pages are notes written in nearly illegible cursive; the script of doctors. The journal is peppered with notes made by Professor Ward, who makes several connections to the patients symptoms and the goings on in modern day Louisiana.
Players who read this book take 1d3 temporary sanity loss, but will learn what afflicts the people who visit Site 9.
