Tower of the Four Winds
From atop the talest mountain in the word rises a great white and silver tower, surrounded by violent winds and frequent storms.
It is a place where the four winds of the word cross paths, and there Takashi, living god of the sky, meditate and watch the vast empire under his protection.
Purpose / Function
Originally created to be a place of spiritual communion with the air and sky and martial arts training, the tower also became a fortress and seat of spiritual power for the Ruler of Storms, where he train his few appendices and receive those who seek audience with him.
Sensory & Appearance
Most rooms are very well lightened by the many windows and most of the microclimates are pleasantly cold or comfortably warm.
Few sounds can be heard outside the constant music creating a atmosphere of peace and contemplation.
Denizens
Very few people actually spend more than a few days at a time in the tower, mostly frequented by monks or soldiers that practice Tatsumaki no Mich and go there to train, as well as the nobles and sages who seek audience with the Ruler of Storms.
Only Takashi and his few direct aprentices have permanent residence, and even then, don't spend much of their time there, as they're constantly traveling across the kingdom for various reasons.
Special Properties
The tower chanel spiritual and magical powers of the winds, creating a faint music that grow louder and more complex closer to the top. That music helps the denizens atune to the energy of the place, making all Sky magic and air related martial arts easier.
The true power of the tower, however, lies on the very top, from where Takashi can project his senses across the Oriental Kingdoms and even beyond, nothing under the sky can escape it's sights. He can also cast his voice on the wind currents to warn his alies or command his army of elementals and, when his wrath is raised, send storms and hurricanes upon his enemys.
No one knows if this powers come mostly form Takashi or are available to anyone who reach the top, but since very few people are capable of standing there without being ripped apart by the violent deafening winds or fulminated by lightning, the answer is likely to remain a mystery.
Architecture
The tower shaped with a circular base and rises monolithic in a japanese architecture.
It's made of white marble, polished to point of shining and has a great number of windows, carefully made to direct the wind currents so that every room is touched by then, both by their positions an by the spiritual carvings made of silver, to guide the strong elemental forces that charge the currents. Closer to top, the exterior is covered with enchanted metal scales, which attract and absorb lightning, protecting the rest of the structure and giving its higher parts a silverly appearance.
The inside of the building is divided in many rooms carved form the same rock of the outside, most of which play a part in the direction of winds, and, as such, have special holes and many pasages connecting then and are decorated with glyphs and marks, some carved, other painted in hues of sapphire blue and dark grey.
It's top is a diamond shaped open space that serves as a place of mediation and self improvement. It has no roof or walls, completely exposed to the elements. It's floor, made of different colored rocks, resemble a wind rose: East is blue, north is white, West is dark yellow and South is red
History
Created by a group of monks that practiced the mystical martial arts "Tatsumaki no Mich" and priests of The Way of Intertwined Words, who believe that the balance between the spiritual and material beings is the natural order of the word.
It was used for centuries as training ground and temple in honor of the spirits of the sky. Reaching the tower itself is considered a great challenge for those who seek it's wonders, while climbing to it's top and surviving it's flesh rending winds is the final challenge for the masters of Tatsumaki no Mich.
One of this masters was Takashi, a young martial artist and general who became know as Ruler of Storms. After conquering and submitting the four Elemental Lords of the air, he took the tower as it's throne and sent the priests away.
Today, it continues to be a training ground and stands a testament of human effort and power over nature.
The tower is almost invisible from the base of the mountain, but don't worry, you will see the storm from miles, it is somewhere in it's center, if you reach it, I will call you a warrior, but you will only be a master after standing at it's top"Morning Star to Takashi"

Environmental Effects
The tower, and all the region around is ravaged by terrible winds that vary widely in temperature an humidity, but the magical architecture makes the interior habitable and quite comfortable, creating microclimates inside different rooms.
The outside climate is cold, but air pressure isn't as low as the height suggest, making the oxygen ratio almost the same as sea level.
Storms as frequent, caused by the crossing currents, but they seldom affect the interior of the tower.
