"Bottling"

Teleportation is an expensive and exhausting endeavour, and certain conjurers of the Circle of Anthur-Ro specialize in it. For the right price, the Circle can teleport an entire party of up to 39 passengers to 13 fixed destinations across Oa at a steep yet justifiable price.

Procedure

On average, an adept conjurer may make a journey once a week from The Arcanaeum to a Permanent Teleportation Circle and back again. Because this form of travel requires a very senior and skilled wizard to perform both the reduce and teleport spells, because only seven individuals can accompany the adept on the journey, and because these teleportation circles require a full year of construction by, again, very senior and specialized conjurers, this form of travel was used in emergencies only and was never considered to be commercially viable.   Enter the transmuters. Transmutation adepts working in conjunction with the conjurers discovered that a drastically refined reduce spell confining travellers in a simple object -- a bottle, for instance -- permitted the conjurers to focus on teleporting themselves or normal-sized individuals without needing to concentrate on the other passengers, who for all arcane intents and purposes became nothing more than cargo.   "Bottling" is now a popular form of travel from the Wandering City out to distant locations and back again. One primary traveller buys a ticket on behalf of a party of up to five, and four of the five are reduced and placed in an impossibly thin glass bottle, which is held by the primary. The conjurer takes up to seven primary travellers (for a total of 39 passengers maximum) into the teleportation circle and performs the spell.   Upon arrival at destination, the reduce spell is automatically broken by virtue of the distance between the passengers and the transmuter, and the bottle is shattered as they return to normal size. With the costs of transport reduced to 20%, this still expensive form of transportation is now available to the middle, merchant and adventuring classes.

Current Destinations and Prices

Prices are by the individual (i.e., primary traveller). Each additional bottled passenger runs 350g for the reduction and bottling costs. Note that for security reasons most teleportation circles are set between 1-3 days' journey of the listed city. Only Templeborne has its teleportation circle within the city walls.
