Horsley

The Ladies' Hiking Club first encountered Horsley, a plain grey Lipizzan, as a decoy in a Hobgoblin ambush just outside of Lakeshore. After defeating the forces arrayed against them there, Cherry Merrybottom insisted that the horse be brought along with them and the family of Halflings with which they were travelling.
Horsley was a true and reliable friend for about a week until the Club came into the ruins of the Wood Elf hamlet of Echadnaur and realized they had to move on by water. Horsley, who was not a boat, would not be making the trip with them.
Vega Spritzer cast Speak With Animals upon him and the group realized that they may have inadvertently re-stolen him from the Hobgoblin who stole him from "Jocelyn". When asked whether he wanted to go on with the Club, he answered that he preferred to go home and see her. After a tearful farewell and a furtive but unsuccessful discussion of logistics, they decided just to send Horsley on his way, confident that he would not lie about knowing the way home.
