Paisley Zuffaboon is a ceramic abjurationist, and she brought her whole self to the design and execution of Paisley's Patient Box.
The box is enchanted to suspend the initial phase of a
counterspell incantation in a loop. To operate, the two nodes are placed outside the opened box and the central gemstone is pressed to prime the unit.
The next spell cast within 60' of the box of 5th level or lower will not be countered, but will have no effect as it will be suspended between the nodes in the space between casting and countering. The nodes can then be loaded safely within the box.
Closing the lid will seal the spell within on a five-minute timer. The two buttons on the top right and bottom left of the front face will then increase that time by five minutes or one hour, respectively. When the timer on the box runs out, the lid will pop free and the spell within will trigger. If the spell requires a target, the nearest creature will be its target. If none is within the spell's range, the spell will be countered with no effect.
