Tintorio's Box of Company

Babalu Tintorio was a clockwork necromancer famed as a toymaker for years before electing to pursue the arcane arts. His Box of Company is a fascinating little device with few practical uses.   When fully wound up, the three pincer arms in the glass dome will assemble one toy gnome every ten minutes. At the conclusion of that process, the dome will pop open and the 5" toy gnome will climb out, close the dome behind it, and proceed to frolic around in the 10' surrounding the box. The pincers will then begin work on the next one.   In total, 72 toy gnomes can be produced in the 12 hours of the box's power reserve. When the time runs out, a bell will chime, the dome will open and the gnomes will raise their hands, fall over, and disintegrate. The dust will carry magically back into the box, and once full the box will once more snap shut.
The toy gnomes will move, dance, wave and generally frolic about in halting, mechanical movements and have no effective use except when ordered to attack by their owner. The toys move as a single cloud, have a movement range of 10 feet and attack individually with a straight roll of a d20 (i.e., 12 units will roll 12 attacks with an unaltered d20). When they hit, they adhere to their target until forcibly removed and can inflict 1 damage with their wee little swords. The toys will continue attacking their target until told to stop, and they are not capable of attacking more than one target at a time.
