S.34. Ballroom Blitz Report

General Summary

The Empire Day ball has been interrupted by a terrorist organization led by Heveta Bellatrix who plans on stealing a powerful artifact called "Salvation." As Heveta worked her way through the palace with the help of Gazpacho and Malark, they came upon the royal gardens where Malark went to plant a spore of Psilopher, thus extending the mushroom god's consciousness to Pelos. During that time, Gazpacho stole salvation from Hevata, quickly drank a potion of clairvoyance and misty stepped to the ballroom leaving Malark to deal with the irate insurgent. Malark fled the gardens with Heveta in tow, leading her to the palace where they had a standoff that resulted in Heveta overloading her artificer apparatus and killing herself in the resulting energy burst leaving Malark to escape the palace with the apparatus.
Meanwhile, in the ballroom, a wave of intense emotion has washed over Karmeros who began to transform into his true hellish form as the lord of the nine hells Asmodeus claimed him as his heir. However, before the Prince of Nessus could fully take over Karmeros' mind, A.L. saved him by bravely moving within range of his Protection from Good and Evil Spell, which banished Asmodeus from his mind. 
As one threat was taken care of, the rebels began their coup in earnest, with Gazpacho dispatched several with the power of salvation, and Folke and Alayna defended some of the nobility. Soon A.L. convinced the rebels that the fight was over and the Emperor agrees they would be free to leave with no fear of penalty so long as they never returned, and the awakened warforged would be allowed to leave and find their own way in the world.
After the ball, the party made their way back to the Elfsong Tavern where they prepared to leave. As they gathered their things, Alayna  revealed that she was done with Pelos and was coming with them on their adventure.
