Session 4: Festival in Vallaki Report

General Summary

After finally making their way to Vallaki, the party went straight to the mansion of Baron Vargas Vallakovich. There they learned of his latest attempt to coerce happiness in Vallaki, the festival of the sun. He sent the party away with directions to the Blue Water Inn where they might find rooms for the night.
The party then made their way to St. Andral's Church where they met Father Lucian Petrovich who believes that the Bones of Saint Andral are the only thing keeping the Devil Strahd at bay. The party inquired about the presence of a Vistani woman Madam Eva foretold would be at the church. He informed them of a newcomer to town who has taken refuge in the church but spends her days out in the city.
After leaving the church, the party went to the Blue Water Inn to find rooms for their stay in Vallaki. Upon their arrival, they met Danika Dorakova , one of the proprietors of the inn who gave them rooms and food before they made their way out for the festivities.
Once the party found the central area of the festival, Baron Vallakovich led an embarrassing display in which he attempted to light a wicker sun just as it began to rain. After the Baron had a man arrested for "spite", the party followed his lackeys to an alley where they beat the man. Just as it seemed there was no way for the party to avoid conflict, a woman named Lady Fiona Wachter appeared in the alley, scared the men off, and invited the party to her home to discus their visit to Vallaki.
