Aspain

Culture: Aspain has a very strange tradition even to the Aspainiards who live there currently. The upper class have a tendency to have multiple affairs when they are young before settling down for marriage. If the woman of the marriage (or the marriage is same sex but same sex upper class society usually do not have many affairs) can not give birth to a child or dies before they are unable to conceive, the living noble MUST find their bastard children and claim one to be their heir. Of course, this can lead to the lower class and unruly types to sneak their way up the social ladder through manipulation and intrigue. It is not the best method, but it is the only method the upper class and the rich seem only to follow.

Demographics

Since it a very cold habitat, not many races thrive within Aspain. It's main inhabitants are humans, goliath, Aarakocra, few dwarves, air and water genasi, and some triton.

Government

The High Council controls the entire region of Aspain. There are five heads: human Yarik Mikholm, human Marta Findraad, guillemot aarakocra Culi, air genasi Flutter, and dwarf clan leader Eindelle Hafgrey. The High Council deals with the political and economic goings on in Aspain. They are elected through a voting system whenever one of the council members passes. Usually, depending on the race, the most rich are usually picked or the head leader of a clan or tribe. A goliath has never taken a seat on the High Council.

Defences

Aspain relies on the harsh winter winds and giant mountian ranges surrounding it as a defense. The military is the second most highest paying job in Aspain.

History

Aspain was desolate and void of much life. But the ambitious human persevered and pushed through. Learning to hunt, fish, and trap as well as taking mining tips from the local dwarves the small tribe began to thrive. The reliance of dwarves lead to conflict of course. While the conflict continued, the humans worked together to build Silksummit, named after the silky softness of fresh snow. The people within also fought for control over who would rule, if they wanted to follow the monarchy of Astana, or choosing a leader like in Orcharia. Maybe even Eskye, who also holds a monarchy but controlled? No. Certain humans were able to make a deal with the dwarves and created the High Council. Choosing only those who were rich enough and could keep the dark secret of the origins of the council in the dark. Aspain then grew and thrived as best they could. Because of the climate, and the lack of export goods, the Aspain is the poorest region of Lunaecia.

Tourism

There is a large tourist area within Silksummit: historic buildings, an art district, a lavish park. Outside of that there is not much tourism except for those who wish to hike and camp in the Aspain wilderness.
