Halfling

A peaceful race, halflings enjoy a sedentary lifestyle and quiet. The phrase "Home is where the heart is" rings absolute truth to halflings as many never truly stray far from home. They live for the finer things in life and as such, when venturing beyond home, that is their main motivation. Halflings usually live as farmers or settle in quiet communities but those who enjoy the arts tend to form caravans and troupes that travel. Practicality is valued above all else. They are kind, curious, and generous to a fault. They despise being compared to gnomes and dwarves. Doing so would make them hold a grudge until the day they die, even then that grudge could last for generations after. The dream of any halfling is a pastoral life with a large family and a warm home. Like humans and few other humanoids, halflings find their homes everywhere. There is not one place, aside from Faykeep, that doesn't house halflings. Though not one for true adventure, it is not uncommon to find one within a band of adventurers.

Biological Traits

Halflings’ skin ranges from tan to pale with a ruddy cast, and their hair is usually brown or sandy brown and wavy. They have brown or hazel eyes. Halfling men often sport long sideburns, but beards are rare among them and mustaches even more so. They like to wear simple, comfortable, and practical clothes, favoring bright colors.

Even the wealthiest of halflings keep their treasures locked in a cellar rather than on display for all to see. They also prefer the straightforward method when it comes to everything. As a rule, they are good-hearted and kind, hate to see others in pain, and have no tolerance for oppression. They are also very orderly and traditional, leaning heavily on the support of their community and the comfort of their old ways.
