Orcharia

Culture: Orcharian culture varies depending on how religious the town/city/village is. But, one thing they have in common is that tieflings though not rare are still few and far between and as they are a mirror image of demons, living in the holy lands is contradicting and often times makes them the victims of fetishization to the point where random clubs and brothels go up to tieflings begging them to join their places of work as clients would pay very much for only one night.    Another cultural point, thought a holy land, outside of the holy city of Ironshadow, Orcharia is not as well protected and crime is very rampant.

Government

Run by a High Priestess and Head Wizard/Arch Mage, both communicate on how Orcharia can improve through the combination of religion and magic within the world. A new High Priest is chosen through the Priestly Council. They are chosen through a multitude of tests and usually, one is chosen at birth and trained for the rest of their lives. The Head Wizard is chosen through a nationwide competition when the current Head Wizard declares it. The competition is called upon by multiple magic users and done in secret within the walls of Ironshadow. The Head Wizard controls the numerous wizardy/warlock, and sorcerer guilds in Lunaecia. The current High Priestess and Head Wizard is Yuhlah Bala (Priestess) and Aazita Dorrhid (Wizard).

After the priest is chosen, they are taken into a room and put there to meditate and concentrate on their powers. During that time, the whole of Orcharia, is in a magic blackout for the most part. Once done, the priest creates 7 crystals that are to be scattered throughout Orcharia to distribute the crystals and their power.

Defences

Since Orcharians basically revolve around magic, magic is their only defense. There army usually comprises of multiple magic user students and are deployed if need be. There are no non magic fighters or soldiers as there were never seen as useful. During the week long magic power outage, those who are already born with magic are made to work overtime in Ironshadow.

History

Orcharia is considered the Motherland to many creatures embedded with magic. They say that is where the gods themselves were born. It is fact that the dragons were born in Orcharia and cultivated the strong magical energy that resides within Orcharian magic deposits. Many migrated to Orcharia to become closer to the dragons and their magic while others migrated to be closer with the gods. Many people within Orcharian smaller villages worship the dragons over gods.   One step on Orcharian soil, everyone, even the most magically inept, can feel a surge of magical energy course through them. Many of the most powerful wizards reside alongside sorcerers and even some warlocks. Most of the wizard schools are located in Ironshadow.   Though it is the mecca of all magical beings, it houses the holy city Ironshadow, the metropolis of wizardry and magic schooling as well as the religious empire.   Orcharia is proud of their local life philosophy and fiercely loyal to the current human High Priestess Yuhlah Bala and the dragonborn Head Wizard Aazita Dorrhid. Orcharia is a blessed, magical country and is the most advanced magically.

Tourism

Education is of the utmost importance for Orcharians. Many students flock from all over to study and learn. Even elves are more likely to be seen Orcharia and are regarded as the best teachers.

Geography

With it's arid climate and rarely changing weather, Orcharia is a vast desert expanding from the coast to the edge of the Violent Hills Territory. Precipitation is very low and though the days can be scorching, the nights can be dreadfully cold. The beasts that roam Orcharia are usually the outcasts and failed experiments of the gods, tragically cursed to wander.   There is also few vegetation but various orchards are scattered throughout and villages built around them, hence the name.

Natural Resources

Though water is scarce, it is the sweetest tasting. Some say it is the magic, others say that the water pools are blessed by the dragons and the gods, it tends to teleport. Some say they are mirages but no, these small oases come and go as they please. If you find one it is best to leave after you are done, for you shall be trapped.
