Violent Hill Territory

Geography

The territory itself is made of a strip of mountains that border Orcharia and Aspain.

History

The territory is named the Violent Hills Territory because in the beginning, it was just rolling hills and a deep valley in between. The orcs and goliaths laid claim to this area. The gods have been known to unleash their anger upon the hills, destroying them, removing all sustainable life. A goliath legend tells that a goliath once cursed the gods when her wife had died. She was ostracized from her tribe for her grief was seen as selfish. The gods, infuriated, cursed the entire territory to become cold and dry. An orc not too long later, had tricked a god for food. For his insolence the gods thought it fair to curse the area to make it treacherous mountain terrains full of monsters and sickly beasts. The goliath and orcs still stake claim as they over time became used to the harsher climates. for any other race, triton and elf included, to trek through these mountains would be certain death. It is tedious, but even merchants, caravans, traders, and travelers go out of their way and find any way they can to travel around rather than through unless absolutely necessary.
