Stone sceptre of the Numay

West of the Whitestone Island lies the flooden city. Sailors speak of large buildings and grand monuments. Strange human-like statues, called Numay riddle the place in strange poses and some, according the sailors, move on their own.

Close to the centre of the city stands the biggest and greatest monument, a statue named Monument of the Stone. It holds a large sceptre with a blue-ish white crystal about the size of a horse.
Those who got close to it reported headaches, anxiety and halucinations as the crystal started to glow. As of now, noone has dared to get close enough to it. Fears of the numay and the strange crystal itself are too strong for even the most daring sailors and adventurers.

Stories behind the crystal:

Over the years people speculated about the crystal. It's commonly agreed the crystal holds immense power and could be used by whoever gets their hands on it to obtain unimaginable power.

One story speaks about a man who got his hands on the crystal and lead his people to build a civilization. However, it slowly drove him mad, and eventually he snapped. He turned himself into a giant to destroy his people. But he underestimated the power of the crystal and was turned into a statue along with everyone else and drove the land the city was built on, underwater.

Another speaks of a city that discovered the crystal and worshipped it as some kind of a god. Their worship became so intense, they started to take less care of the city and themselves. This only worsened over the years until their civilization fell into ruin. The goddess Dantea punished the people for worshipping a false god, turned them into statues and raised the ocean to flood the city.

There are many other stories like this, but none have been proven true yet. Still it's likely some of them have a bit of truth.

Power behind the sceptre:

The true power is not known by anyone except the Numay and will remain a mystery for a while longer.
  • The sceptre is made to fit the giant statue that's currently holdng it, but scales with the weilder in size.
  • It is only destructable by a myth, such as Ragu the crystal dragon, who could freeze, then shatter it, or master of the forge who could simply destroy it.
  • The seceptre inuces headaches, anxiety and halucinations to whoever gets close and glows, as if being used. When held by a single person, only they becomes affected, but it gets much worse, as they slowly go insane.
  • It holds immense power and brightly glows when used. It is able to control the Numay, turn people into stone and can induce imemnse sensory hallucinations, disabling or outright killing the person.
