The silent tree

Description:

A tree growing up to 5 meter tall. It looks like several thin trees twisting into one, spreading into a thick crown of branches covered in small dark green leaves.. It's roots covered in violently rough dark blue to black bark spread out up to 3 meters from it, leaving barely any empty space.

Uses:

The tree's deadly poison can be extracted, if one dares to try. It is sometimes put on tips of weapons, traps and arrows for increased lethality.

Biology:

The tree produces deadly acidic poison similar to cyanide, which is released through it's bark, damaging anything organic, mainly skin, seeping into the body, often killing it's host within hours, depending on the dose.
The tree's roots act as a detection system, attacking any animal or plant getting near. Sometimes it shoots the poison up to 3 meters.
While mostly used as a defense mechanism, it sometimes uses the poison to get additional nutrients from dead animals and plants.
The tree reproduces by shooting it's poison-covered seeds at animals, which carry them off. But because of how rarely animals approach it, they reproduce slowly and rarely.

Growth requirements:

The tree can survive in any environment, both warm and cold, as long as it has nutrients, either from the soil or dead animals and plants, and sunlight, which it needs only 3 hours a day of.

Locations:

The tree is rarely found deep within forests on the Island of origin and very rarely on the Whitestone Island. Because locals tend to burn the trees to get rid of them, they are found deep within forests where people rarely venture.

Lore:

• The plant is surrounded by eerie silence, as not even insects dare to get close to it. It's also why plants refuse to grow near it.
• Servants of the blood gods see the tree as a creation of Sarus the Deathbringer.

The tree grows up within 5 years and can live hundreds of years.
