The Fire Silk Road is a trade organization. It is governed by a Master of Trade and a Trade Council made up of one representative from each of the cities and oases on the trade route.
The merchants and other travelers of the Fire Silk Road are generally an aimiable lot. the consensus is that open trade is good for everybody. While there are occasional instances of theft and banditry, the road is mostly a safe place. Nowhere else will you find such sharp and shrewd traders as you will on the Fire Silk Road.
Each trader/trading group own their own transportation mechanisms and conveyances. These might include mules, cammels, horses, sand lizards, wagons, sledges, and other means of baring and transporting goods. It is also possible to rent such transports in most of the stops on the route.
From about 1200 AG, the cities and oases of the
Sacala Desert had attempted to trade among themselves even going as far as
Tiron and
Tirfalon. While some of these caravans had successful runs, many were plagued by bandits and thieves. Certain groups of coastal cities and other desert oases in proximity to one another had loose trade agreements during that period, but it wasn't until the 1350's and after that a formal organization was organized by the
Government in Octiragrin in order to obtain a reliable supply of goods from the desert and coasts of the Sacala region. Tirfalon sent emissaries to the oases and coastal settlements around the Sacala Desert to form a trade organization to beneit all. Most were pleased to become part the organization, but a few were more hesitant. It was decided that
Tranquil Haven should be the headquarters of the organization since it is in the center of the
Sacala Desert. The formal treaty governing the trade organization was signed by all the representtives and the Fire Silk Road came to be in
1400 AG.
Open trade brings prosperity to all.
