Red Bonnet
In Zahrain, where pleasure is legally for sale, the honest and upright brothel keeper is highly valued. The Red Bonnet is bestowed on one brothel keeper every five years. There is much honor gained and profit made when one achieves this award. The winner is chosen by popular vote, excellent client reviews, and employee surveys. The award is presented at a ceremony at the beginning of Elir. The award consists of a plaque, the Crimson Guard for the duration of the five years, and of course the actual red bonnet, which the honoree is obligated to wear when in public.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal
If a holder of the Red Bonnet is found to have dropped their good business practices or is mistreating their employees, the award and its benefits will be immediately revoked and another competitor awarded in his/her place. This has never happened.to date. It would be a massive disgrace and the proprietor in question would lose respect and patronage.
History
In 1855 AG the Red Bonnet was established as an award to promote good business practices and fair treatment by brothel keepers. Zahrain's major industry is pleasure in all its forms and the city fathers wanted to make the city as safe and reputable as possible. The Red Bonnet is one of the ways they use to promote and encourage healthy competition.
