Throughout the world, magic flows and permeates the the lands of Od. Magic flow tends to follow the paths of magics before it, culminating in the existence of lay lines. These root-like extensions of magic .
Lay Line Travel
People are able to use the lay lines to travel along them, if proper conditions are met. They must posses a charged Lunastone, and must have attuned to the destination lay line that they wish to travel to. Traveling through a lay line expends one charge of a lunastone.
Lay lines are heavily connected to the lunar cycles, and as such some lunar essence is needed to use them, this is usually given with a lunastone. Also as a result of their connection to the moons, lay lines do not require Lunastones to travel on Bright Nights (when both moons are full), but also cease functioning altogether on Dark Nights (when both moons are new).
Lunastones
A lunastone is some object that has been imbued with lunar essence. They come in many shapes, sizes, and capacities, but the most common lunastone to be found can hold three charges. The more charges a lunastone can hold, the more rare and expensive it is. There are experiments for artificial lunastones, but they either aren't great, can't be recharged, or are prohibitively expensive.
When traveling through the lay lines, one charge is expended.
A lunastone regains two charged during a full Lunaria moon, and one charge during a full Morane moon.
Attunment
To properly traverse through the ethereal roots (safely and accurately at least), one must attune their body to the destination lay line they wish to travel to. [why, body and spirit can flow to where it knows] This process usually involves staying in the area around the lay line for a day or two, during which time the ether and the person's energy dance and commingle until ending in ethereal harmony.
