Mian Dore
When the world was young and belonged to the darkness, the old gods sent their most powerful weapons - the dragons - to the plane to burn back the night and make the land safe. The first dragons were powerful, nearly gods themselves, and the old ones blessed them with tremendous power. Still, the gods feared that if their children were born into the darkness, many might not live to mature into their full potential. They conspired, and banded together to make a star. They filled the star with dragon eggs, and dropped it on Odellia, a calamity of fire and light that drove the darkness away for a time.
Where that star landed, a chain of islands formed, eventually becoming an an archipelago. As the ages passed by, the archipelago became known as the nation of Mian Dore.
Located in the warm western seas, a beacon of light in the place where Sea of Glory meets the Vecksic Ocean, Mian Dore is known as much for its lush tropical environment as it is its geopolitical presence. Every gold piece ever spent passes through Mian Dore, or so they say. No one can really know for sure, but if the rumors about the coffers of the dragonlords are to believed, it very well may be.
Some say their coffers contain the most valuable treasures in all the world, others say the dragonlords would rather horde ancient magics and power relics rather than gold. No one knows for sure. Except, of course, they themselves.
A diverse caste of ultra elite nobles, the dragonlords are a mysterious and eclectic lot. Numbering in the hundreds, they seem content to occupy themselves with keeping tabs on each other, all the while having their envoys, agents, and ambassadors travel across Odellia further their own interests.
While no two dragonlords is the same, they are almost universally wealthy, with most possessing some number of powerful magic items which they keep on their person at all times. The dragonlords maintain a constant uneasy truce between one another, a truce which is constantly broken as carefully and stealthily as possible so as to avoid prosecution. Instances of espionage, sabotage, and subterfuge are as common on Mian Dore as waves on the black sand beaches.
Structure
When it comes to matters of state, Mian Dorean dragonlords are each considered as equal voices and representatives of their nation. Decisions, political and sociological, are taken by vote; each dragonlord is presented with a missive that contains the issue at hand, to which they must respond in one of three ways; support, reject, or abstain.
Public Agenda
Mian Dore's agenda is unknown, and in the centuries since the war its dragonlords seem mostly content to busy themselves with their own personal agendas. There are rumors of an organization working within the ranks of the dragonlords, colluding in an effort to ensure that certain issues are always supported or rejected.
