Mechanics & Inner Workings

This is a +1 magical longsword, with the +1 being dealt as fire damage. This weapon also has 1d4+2 charges.   One Charge: Upon a successful melee attack you can cause a small flame to leap to another creature within 5 ft. of the hit creature. The targeted creature then takes 1d4 fire damage.   Three Charges: You may use an action to blow upon the sword, causing a 15-foot cone of fire to erupt from the sword. Each creatures in this cone must make a Dexterity saving throw. A creature takes 3d6 fire damage on a failed save, or half as much on a successful one. The fire ignites any flammable objects in the area that aren't being worn or carried.   Once all charges have been expended the sword remains magical, but no longer deals the additional +1 fire damage. The sword is still considered magical and add a +1 to hit modifier. The sword regains 1d4 + 1 charges at dawn each day, also regaining the fire damage until all charges are spent.
