The Undead Siege of Bogwater

The Conflict

Prelude

On a foggy morning the a loud moan could be heard coming from the swamp. The four guards at the front gate of Bogwater began to look at each other, puzzled. One walked into the fog to investigate. After loosing site of him the other two guards began to hear his screams, and flesh tearing. Out the fog emerged a small horde of Blight Zombies.

Deployment

The 10 guards were deployed throughout Bogwater.

The Engagement

The first guard ventured out into the fog to investigate the moaning. He was immediately killed. The remaining three guards made a stand at the gate beckoning for the one just on the inside to come out and assist. When three of the four guards fell the last remaining guard ran inside and closed the gates. Looking through the holes in the portcullis two zombies spewed their infection onto him, killing him and causing him to turn.   Meanwhile, at the refugee campfour additional blight zombies rose, from dead refugees. The two guards stationed there tried to hold them back while the remaining refugees ran to Cassandra's manor. They retreated but one was slain while his back was turned. The remaining guard was joined by the one stationed outside the brewery.   Three civilians ran and alerted the guards posted outside Cassandra's manor and in the market. The guards escorted them to the manor but the door was locked. They held the line while they waited and prayed for the door to open. When the horde surrounded the guards outside the manor they vomited the plague onto them, killing all three and turning them to their side. Two of the three civilians were cut down before the door was finally open.   One lone guard, the one from the market held the line in an alley to prevent one of the zombies from getting through and flanking the civilians. He managed to put down the zombie, but not without taking grievous injuries. He made his way into the nearby house, locked the door and bunkered down.
