Trolls

Putting it politely, every Troll is built like a brick shithouse. The Troll race are know for two things, their size and their strength. Towering over the other races makes it second nature for a Troll to act intimidating, even without meaning to be. They are raised with an ethos of minimal care for any others than themselves, seeing the acceptance of outside help as an admittance of their own weakness. This leads many Trolls to be brought up in an environment of survival of the fittest. They hold a certain pride in what they can achieve on their own merit, making it very rare to ever see a Troll accepting help from others. Trolls prefer to solve things quick and head on, grabbing their problems by the horns and overpowering them with ease, perhaps as a prideful display of their own capability to those watching or maybe just to boost their own ego.

Anatomy

The Troll's large builds and prominent horns protruding from their heads make them a very obvious physical threat. In Troll culture it is commonplace for duels to take place involving two individuals, where they will lock their horns together and have a test of strength, most similar to a human sumo match, as a modern day equivalent. This makes the size and strength of a Troll's horns a key bragging point and status symbol for all Trolls, male and female, and so they usually take great pride in maintaining their horns whenever possible.

Social Structure

Trolls lifestyle revolve around an ideal of pride. They feel the need to prove themselves to any and all in the name of their home clan. This Clan based structure causes the Troll people to be at constant conflict on their homeworlds, with ongoing wars of passion and merit. Their wars are not the typical short wars of the present, instead they chose to fight in the ways they have been fighting for millennia, their pride stopping them from every doing any different. They take part in one on one, Troll to Troll, duels of horn to horn combat, with their fights taking place over age old grudges from generations long past.

The average troll's lifespan may be shorter than that of a human, depending on where they've come from -- troll culture is a fairly violent one, and it's entirely possible parents, siblings, or loved ones may have had their lives cut abruptly short.
