Once a continent unified only by its geography, Odmore rose from an endless sea as the only major landmass in the known world. Its most notable feature was the Farjan Mountain Range, an impossible stretch of majestic mountains that figuratively and literally reached into the heavens. It was upon these peaks that the people of Odmore, both the holiest of clergy and the most common of laypeople, communed with the gods for millenia.
But in the 1,812th year after the Angletian Blast that changed the world forever by ushering in the arcane, the very foundation of Odmore crumbled and collapsed. An ungodly earthquake shattered the earth from the eastern coast of the Tribal Lands to the frozen wastes of the Lost Coast in the far west; from the deep recesses of the dwarven mountains in the north to the volcanic-formed Nanquee Isles in the tropical south. The severity of this disaster was most felt in the loss of the Farjan Range, the celestial mountains fell to dust and left utter destruction in their wake.
From the ashes rose a dreaded curse that the people of Odmore called the godcrux. It executed the gods, claimed the land and its inhabitants, sapped arcane power, and dragged a darkness into the world that none would have thought possible. However, while earth and society fractured, what few folk remained banded together in an unprecedented way. Through courageous research and exploration of the uncharted, weaknesses in the godcrux curse were discovered. Pockets of hope began arising in the hexed world as bastions of rebuilding.
Fifty years have passed since the Farjan fell.
