Personal history
Devlyn's history begins in the rugged landscapes of a distant village, nestled within the embrace of snow-capped mountains and overlooking the shores of a pristine river-fed lake. Growing up amidst the breathtaking beauty of the valley, her idyllic days were spent fishing and hunting alongside her large family, contributing to their livelihood.
Her tranquil existence was shattered when she became the prey of the true Fae, a figure known as the Huntsman. Devlyn found herself trapped by the whims of the fae lord, transformed into a wolf made of briars—an unwilling participant in the Huntsman's Wyld hunt. This cruel fate bound her to the service of the Huntsman, tasked with hunting down Changelings and mortals alike.
A turning came during a daring escape from the clutches of the Huntsman. In her flight, she found herself on the wrong side of the pack, hunted by those who were once her packmates. A fierce confrontation with one of the Huntsman's loyal hound trainers ensued, resulting in her escape but at the cost of losing an eye. Devlyn, scarred by the physical and emotional toll of her time in Arcadia, remained tight-lipped about her harrowing experiences.
Fate guided her to the woods not far from the Freehold of the Iron Gate, where she was discoved by cartographers exploring a mountain pass. They nursed her back to health before taking her to the Freehold. The Freehold took her in, and became a sanctuary where Devlyn pledged herself to the cause, vowing to protect the Freehold from the Fae and their servants. With a determination forged in the crucible of her past, she joined the Hedge Wardens, an order dedicated to taming the wild and safeguarding the mortal realm from the unpredictable forces of the Hedge.
