wyrm coil
A long thin serpentine creature, if it kills a creature, it can embed itself into the corpse. The wyrm coil quickly consumes pathways the tissue under the skin, leaving connective nerves intact. The wyrm upon reaching the skull consumes the brain matter and supplants the nervous system. The body of the slain acts as a protective shell for the wyrm as it grows.
