Foundation Learning
What kind of formal education is available to children in your world? Why is it available and how is it organized?
Foundation learning takes place from ages 4-27 (or their equivalent across species), and teachers guide students through different courses throughout the years. Subjects are divided by age and progression, so when you reach a certain level of progress you can be moved up to the next course in that subject.
So for math, you learn numbers and counting, and then addition and subtraction, multiplication/division, and progressively harder concepts.
Reading you learn common as a base and then branch into as many languages as you want, each their own course.
It is available and fully funded by the government, and is considered a part of the necessary infrastructure alongside water and food management.
Structure
Within the Foundation, the highest level is the Curriculum Council and its members. Below the Curriculum Council is the Course Leaders, who manage the faculty and their training. After the Course Leaders are the teachers themselves, who then interact with the students.
