The First Three

Qrena - Mother Moon

In need of a nursery for her offspring, the children born from the moon and the sun, now known as the Elves of Ered Tuin, were gifted a new world in which they could experience both. Qrena would shine her light upon the world throughout the night, while their father Eesis would do so during the day.   Together, they created Neysus, who would act as a steward to this new world, Olara. Tending to the plants and animals that grew from the energy that Qrena's nightly gaze would imbue.   As she saw her children grown, she wished for them to learn of magic and created Sasyn to keep the astral weave in balance as they played and learned from its many possibilities.   Over the millennia, Qrena and Eesis grew apart, his fiery rage too much for her tranquil soul. Their quarrels causing destruction to spill into Olara. Swelling tides flooded the lowlands and shores, perpetual storms blocked out the sun. At its climax, their differences split Olara into two continents through a series of earthquakes. Neysus begged them to heed their differences as he was powerless to stop them from destroying the world. Qrena had seen her children grow wise and strong, no longer needing her as they once did and she recognized the damage staying would cause. It broke her heart to leave her children and as she did, she left a single tear, Olara's First Moon, suspended in the sky from which her light could still shine upon them.   Qrena now drifts across the cosmos, leaving tears in her wake. The weeping mother, unknowingly lighting the night's sky with millions of shimmering stars. On occasion, when the moon is at its fullest, she will return to speak with her children while their father Eesis sleeps.   Neysus - God of the Wild Earth   Neysus was created by Qrena to look after the fauna and flora of her children's world. As the tension between Qrena and Eesis grew, Neysus had to turn his attention to stopping them from destroying Olara. Neysus, having to focus his attention on his creator's destructive actions, created some of his own helpers. The firbolgs were created to look after large swaths of Olara to ensure the natural order of life and death remained constant and unaltered whilst Neysus was occupied. These firbolgs drew their magic powers directly from the earth and by doing so became able to communicate with all that comes from it.   Sasyn - The Weaver   Soon after his creation, Sasyn was gifted with a ball of yarn from Eesis. These threads held the magic energy of both Qrena and Eesin and as Sasyn traveled around Olara, the ball unraveled across the sky. Through his movements, a magical weave threaded itself around Olara. Those who could attune to it could pull its energy into themselves and cast it out at will in many different forms.   Sasyn now maintains the weave, repairing spots weakened from wear, as he floats through the skies of Olara
