The Arcane War

The Arcane War was the name given to the war between the renegade magical practitioners; that tried to overthrow The Council of Olcari and create a magocracy, trying to open gateways to other planes and summon those locked away. 
There was rumblings of some mages wanting more power before the war truly started, the action that ignite the war, proper, was the attempted assassination of Archduchess Enoria. This lead to two years of intense fighting with a focus on the arcane. Many of the cities today still bare the scars of this war, with magical fortifications as well as physical.
As a result of the war the military garrison of The Dawn Wall was built, as a focus of training for the military in all types of warfare and Arcana Pansophical was formed to regulate and over see those in magic. The Soltryce Academies also expanded their influence; opening new academies throughout Olcari, to train responsible arcane users.
