Isles of Storms

The mystical Isles of Storms, just off the coast of Osteodor these lands are shrouded in near constant stormy weather, proving getting to them, or from them, incredibly difficult.

Geography

The isles themselves barely resemble islands, instead forming giant jutting rocks and spires upon which the ruins and temples are built upon. The water just off of each "island" is horribly rocky as well making ship travel near impossible without sinking.

Ecosystem

The ecosystem is rather desolate, the only creatures that find it worth living here are the Storm Kings and Queen the nest underneath the isles.

Localized Phenomena

The land itself is shrouded in a constant, horrible storm, though also wreathed in a surge of magical potential, making the entire area unstable. If one were to try and use spells within the Isles, it could backfire due to the sheer amount of energy that's coursing through them and the area.

Climate

The Isles climate remains completely stagnant no matter what, the shifting seasons of Osteodor next to it seemingly having no effect on the Isles.

Fauna & Flora

Within one of the towers lies the only bit of flora on these isles, a living carnivorous plant that has been granted human-like intelligence. Apart from this, the only animals that actively live here are the Storm Kings, hibernating for countless years under the isles and providing the constant storm.

Natural Resources

The Isles, while nothing particularly new is found within them, does harbor a great multitude of enchanted and magically infused gems and rock simply due to the power there. With this though, the materials are largely unobtainable.

History

The isles themselves were created long ago by an unnamed wizard to house his greatest achievements and creations, specifically built in such a dangerous area to keep them safe and unknown forever.

Many followed in his footsteps, long forgotten mages and heroes travelling a one way trip to the Isles in order to die and be forgotten, yet remain for all eternity with their achievements. The area itself is essentially a giant graveyard of forgotten heroes who wished for a quieter death and burial.

Tourism

Those who visit the Isles may expect not to return.

Interesting area. The article raises all manner of questions. I'll see if you have a Storm King and Queen article. If someone travels there - it is pretty much one way without teleport. That means starvation without food supplies as there is nothing growing or living there. Maybe the fishing is good.
