House Kyōmori
Kyō (凶 -- "Bad" or "Misfortunate") + Mori (守 -- "Protect" or "Defend"). This House was based on the idea of the Gorgon, medusa, a well-known figure in Greek Mythology. And, in Greek, the word Gorgon comes from the word "Gorgones" which means "grim" or "terrible". And Medusa comes from the word "medeiun" which means guardian. And so the surname Kyōmori was erected from the word Kyo for Misfortune and Mori for a guardian to display where the inspiration came from.
