Effect

Users can create, shape, and manipulate wood/woody plants, including trees, shrubs, and lianas. They can cause wood to grow, move/attack or even rise from the soil and "walk", mutate wood by rearranging DNA structure, revive withered or dead wood or manipulate the deadwood as well as the living. Wood created from a Wood Release has two additional abilities which make it applicable in battle; 1) Wood can "eat" Magical Energy, draining a person of their energy until they are empty, and 2) Wood can "suppress" any caught in its wake, slowly corroding their will to fight and any sense of conflict, pacifying unaware enemies.

Side/Secondary Effects

• May be unable to create wood, being limited to manipulating only from already existing sources. (This only applies to Mages who do not have this Tome)
• Most users are powerless in areas without wood/woody plants or at least potential for wood/woody plants to grow (infertile/barren soil). (This only applies to Mages who do not have this Tome)
• High levels of radiation in a concentrated area may cause defects in the ability.
• Users may be only able to control certain types of wood/woody plants.
• Distance, mass, precision, etc. depend upon the knowledge, skill, and strength of the user and their power's natural limits.
• May have limits on the amount/time user can control.
• Attacks from Fire Manipulation and/or Ice Manipulation can pose an issue.
• Wood can be destroyed by flames.

Manifestation

When Released, the Wood will erupt from the ground or the body, if a planet naturally has wood or a wood-like substance present, the wood generated will resemble it. If you are on a world with yellow spikey wood trees, then your Wood Release will also be yellow and spikey, however, if the world in question has no wood, naturally, the wood will appear brown and plain.

Discovery

The Wooden Tome has largely never remained in any one bloodline until it manifested in Louis Boudreaux who would eventually become an Iron Knight and be renowned as one of the most powerful beings in the Universe as he was able to use the Wooden Tome with extreme skill thanks to his abundance of Magical Energy, something his descendants would also inherit.

7 Art du Bois

7 Spells all users of the Wooden Tome & Wood Release are capable of using referred to as the '7 Wooden Arts', developed by Louis B. Fay.

• Art 01 -- Forêt Sacrée or 'Holy Forest' spawns a massive forest of trees branching out from the user's current location as its epicenter. The size and strength of the trees and the forest itself depend on the User themselves. This move can be used to create cover from attacks or to gain an environmental advantage.
• Art 02 -- Langue Végétale or 'Plant Tongue' is an ability that allows the user to communicate with others or gain information via plant life. This spell is unmatched when it comes to espionage and intelligence gathering.
• Art 03 -- Sens Sismique or 'Seismic Sense' grants the user superior sense through even the slightest vibration in the ground. Sneaking up on a user of this Art is nigh-impossible.
• Art 04 -- Libération en Bois or 'Wooden Release' consumes all of a user's magical energy but in exchange releases a torrent of super-strong tree branches and roots from their body which pushes away everything around them, even structures. This both gives them distance and provides an escape in a pinch.
• Art 05 -- Mains qui Soignent or 'Healing Hands' causes a small tree to start to grow from the users' chest, feeding off of their pain and healing their injuries in the process. Once complete the Tree will wither and die away. This art can also be used on others to heal them.
• Art 06 -- 7 Couches de Peau or '7 Layers of Skin' is an insanely useful and powerful spell that coats the body in a thin but extremely robust tree-bark-like material, acting as a layer of armor over your skin. If substantially damaged it can be peeled off and the skin or layer underneath will be unharmed. This can be stacked up to 7 times.
• Art 07 -- Titan Boisé or 'Wooden Titan' is the apex of this Wood Tome and allows the user to summon a Titanic-sized golem with the user nested in the nape of the titan's neck, acting as its power source. Other than the extreme strength and power that comes with this art, all users gain an ability unique to them. The golem can sustain immense damage but if the nack is severed or the user removed/ injured, it will quickly fall apart.
