Elf

Once a great race of warriors, the elves were nearly eradicated during the Demon Revolt for their exceptional healing magic. Now they are so scarce that they simply live as citizens of whichever kingdom they find themselves in, most of them fighting for that kingdom, as their heightened senses give them a distinct advantage over normal human troops. Elves are also some of the only magic-wielders willing to tattoo the runes on themselves, eliminating the need for a tome.
