Basic Information

Ecology and Habitats

Frost dragons can be found on the peaks of cold mountains and in tundras. They are carnivours by nature, enjoying freezing their food to store in order to eat it as needed. They nest in caves most often though in ice fields they have been known to burry themselves in the snow and ice and create cover with their ice breath.

Dietary Needs and Habits

They are carnivores by nature, enjoying freezing their food to store in order to eat it as needed.

Additional Information

Social Structure

A bonded pair will nest together sharing the duties of child rearing. Outside of this it is unlikely for them to interact with unrelated dragons that they are not courting. As such their structure is loose though siblings tend to obey the strongest of their number.

Domestication

It is known if you either raise one from an egg or best a young one in a fight you might be able to fly on its back. But if you anger/abuse one it will turn on you.

Uses, Products & Exploitation

The scales of a frost dragon are useful in creating cold resistant armor. As such in cold climates the young are hunted as easier prey than the adults in order to make protective garments.

Average Intelligence

Some are little more than brutish thugs who put cats to shame while others have learned to communicate and even shape shift into other races to live among them, or at least communicate more easily.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Being frost dragons who live in cold climets and tend towards the north and south extremes they have dark vision to cope with 6 months of night. They also have built up a resistance to what might otherwise be blinding light as well thanks to exposure to reflections from snow and ice.

Symbiotic and Parasitic organisms

It is not uncommon even for a thugish frost dragon to nest with siblings or a bonded pair. Some even have a clan of dragonlings following and serving their needs. In the country of Arkenfeld they have even joined the ranks of the calivery allowing elvish soldiers to ride on their backs and work along side other younger members of their race.
Body Tint, Colouring and Marking
Most frost dragons are white though some have swirls of light blue marking along their bodies.
