I don't understand how people can live in such a frigid place. Its so far north on the island it almost never sees warm weather. And yet, its people manage to thrive and enjoy making their homes here. — A visitor from a warmer climate.
Noxhold is a port city in the central northern region of Aibonara, Omari's northernmost island. It's cold, wet, and snowy almost year round. Its closest settlements are Lomi to the west and Ormkirk to the east. Further south is Opal Lake.
Architecture
Its buildings are built from a sturdy wood lined with a material used for extra strength insulation. Many have a "log cabin" look and feel to them. Fireplaces are common in many homes no matter the family's income.
The city does its best to keep the walkways safe and clear for travel. In recent years they've tried out a few innovations to enchant or modify the sidewalks to keep them warm, dry, and free from snow.
Locations of Interest
The northern sector of the city contains its port. There are several docks and warehouses that see the occasional ship entering and leaving the city. Noxhold receives supplies from the other islands and sends supply runners to other settlements to distribute them.
At the center of Noxhold is a bath house. It's a popular gathering point for locals and visitors alike. People can socialize while staying warm and out of the elements. It has a gift shop where tourists can purchase items like towels, slippers, and bath robes.
Close to the bath house is the Hearthglow Inn. It's the most popular lodging among tourists. They enjoy its affordability and the "cozy aesthetics" of the interior.
