Savozian
Come traveler, take a seat by the fire and rekindle your spirit while enjoying a hearty meal and good company.
These are the friendly folk who inhabit the small village of Savozia. Their numbers may be small, but they have big hearts. This community provides a welcome respite to travelers passing through their neck of the frigid island.
Values
Savozian's prioritize community and looking out for each other. Everyone does their part, no matter how big or small, to provide for the village in some way. It can range from watching children or telling stories to healing or looking after livestock. Members unable to partake for any reason are not shunned and still valued and treated with respect.
As generous as they are, Savozians do their best to keep balance. Taking care of oneself is just as important as selflessness and altruism. They appreciate those who go above and beyond for the community, but will always offer gentle reminders to take a break and let others care for them in return.
Religion
A majority of the population worship Drimni. Savozians turned to them for guidance and protection while learning to deal with the harsh winter environment. Many celebrations are held in their honor. Offerings for good luck and less harsh weather are commonly found at the shrine at the center of the village. A seat around the large, central fire is always left open for Drimni.
Beauty
Many members are species with fur coats covering their body. They take great pride in maintaining them to ensure it does a good job in protecting against the frigid air. Special soaps were developed to prevent drying out and brittleness. Some folk enjoy brushing each other's coats while sharing stories and food whenever they need to hunker down inside.
Some Savozians have horns or antlers. Most keep them dulled as they do not feel the need to fight and use them in such a manner. Metal jewelry on the skin is typically avoided to prevent frost bite, but these members enjoy adorning their horns instead. Shaving or reshaping them is usually avoided unless medically necessary.
Clothing
It is never warm in their region; light clothes are not an option. Every garnment is either traded for or locally produced from the livestock. Most pieces are made from wool or thick furs. Their colors are typically shades of brown if sourced from the village itself.
Scarves are popular among many of the citizens. They are the easiest item to customize with colorful dyed yarn obtained from trade. Each individual has a unique scarf with colors and patterns that fit their personality and interests.
