Talli

Good afternoon my fellow foodie freinds! We're deep into summer and the temps just keep rising. Today I'll be going over an easy frozen treat to keep cool with in the swealtering sun. It only takes a few minutes and you can customize it to fit your own tastes.

Talli is a frozen dessert enjoyed by many in the hotter months. It originated in the Aizuni culture and has a couple varients from similar communities. This dish has a base of shaved ice (or other frozen liquids) that is topped with different sweets.

The Original

The most common talli combination consists of the following: A base of shaved ice covered in mango syrup and coconut flakes. These are common items found in the Aizuni culture that are enjoyed by many. They also often enjoy using frozen coconut water or sweet milk as a base instead of plain ice.

Other Options

Some people top their talli with chocolate sauce, sweet beans, pineapple, or tapioca.
