Al-vari
Humanoid race very reminiscent of Humes, but extremely long-lived. Prominent features are elongated neck, slender bodies and pointed ears.
A small excerpt from the book 'Intelligent Life in Gaia', by Hum'ro Skadi, as published in 2335 AFL.
"... Some theorize that their ability to take in ambient aether somewhat more efficiently than the rest of us is the key to their longevity. Even those inherently less magically-oriented seem to possess this ability. This is reflected in turn in their ability to essentially perform a sleepless trance, as well as some particular natural resistances. Enough about their physiology, however. Al-vari, from what the author has interacted with, are kind-hearted beings who have an overall different outlook on life than the rest of us. Longer lives could be nobler ones, I suppose? Take this information with a grain of salt, however, since the author himself is the life-partner of one of their kin. Oh, how she makes me happy."
