Drak'khari
Drak'khari are a variation of dragon-born hybrids that possess vestigial dragon wings but closely resembling hume features throughout most of their bodies.
A small excerpt from the book 'Intelligent Life in Gaia', by Hum'ro Skadi, as published in 2335 AFL.
The long legacy of dragon-folk has its roots deep in this world's history. While the dragons themselves have seemingly gone extinct, along with many of the other titanic beasts of their age, the legacy they have left behind can be felt today. Both Dragonborn and Drak'khari, two similar and yet wildly different races, are said to be spawned from the beasts of old.
Drak'khari are the rarest of the two breeds, their kin being few and far between. They are said to have strong personalities and stronger bodies, being able to resist elemental harm inflicted upon them with their adaptive dragonskin. However, these ancestries seem to be even more limited on Drak'khari than they are on their sibling race. Drak'khari stem from one particular species of dragon, the Rivrostri dragon, which were unique even amongst the dragonkind.
"... which begs the question, how did these folk come to be? We're all used to their sibling race - the ones we call dragonborn. They seem so alike, and yet opposites of each other. They boast some of the same features. Their elemental resistance, their draconic ancestry, all of it. But the drak'khari are more hume-like. Some would say as if humes with dragon scales. Ah, and wings! Vestigial ones, ones that few of them barely ever get to use to their full effect. All we have are musings and myth and nought else to go on. What we do know, however, is that the largest gathering of Drak'khari we know exist in the settlement known as Atal's Roost. They claim to be the remnants of the Dragon Knights, and I, for one, am inclined to agree. Sadly, this writer was denied entrance to the Roost, much like other outsiders. Hence, my limited knowledge. Again, reader, I must apologize to you. I only wish I were a better, more resourceful man."
