Ghûn

A mysterious humanoid folk with a few delicate feline features, the Ghûn have attracted the attention and praise of all of Gaia since their sudden inception into the world a few short centuries ago.
"... Those of them who still knew aught of their previous home are long gone, so all we truly have to go by are stories passed down through generations. They claim to hail from another sphere altogether, for no place in Gaia even remotely resembles the pictures and memories painted of their ancestral home. How this could be, we do not know. Some theorize there is a hidden side of our world which has gone somehow unexplored, or perhaps a hidden island that has eluded our sight all these millennia. Scholars, however, have determined their previous home to be far too alien to still somehow be part of our own world.   Regardless, their inception into our Gaia has been greatly appreciated. They are gentle and fun-loving people that spread cheer wherever they go. Seldom have I ever met a Ghûn that deviates from this pattern, though broodier specimens aren't unheard of. They have spread themselves far and wide in the mainland continent, accepted even into Evermore - if you can believe that!"

  • A small excerpt from the book 'Intelligent Life in Gaia', by Hum'ro Skadi, as published in 2335 AFL.

  •   Ghûn are a relatively new species to Gaia. While they claim to be from another planet, these claims have yet to be confirmed by official sources, given as travel between worlds has yet to be the case in all of recorded history.   This species has brought with it very little, materially speaking, but a vast array of culture and knowledge. A playful people in every regard, they have spread their many unusual forms of entertainment over our sphere - including, but not limited to, a type of long-standing itinerant form of performance known as a Circus. These activities have taken great hold in all of Lindblum, and ghûn have made themselves part of every slice of society so far, including some which have taken up nobility titles by recognition of their efforts to improve society.   Their professions aren't limited to entertainment, however. Many have chosen to take up residence in farm areas and pride themselves on hard work, but it is very rare to see a Ghûn that takes interest in the material or technological. Quite a few Ghûn have taken up adventuring, as they are known for their agility and keen senses, attributes which serve well in any sort of martial endeavour.

    Size

Ghûn are similar to Humes in size, although their height ceiling is, in general, a few centimetres lower.

    Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

    Darkvision

You have a cat’s keen senses, especially in the dark. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern colour in darkness, only shades of grey.

    Elusive

Ghûn possess an elusive nature that is reflected in their ability to phase through objects and people.  Once per short rest, you may phase through 10 feet worth of objects, other characters or terrain without costing you any additional movement. If at the end of this manoeuvre you find yourself still intersecting with anything, you are warped back to where you were before this movement began and take 1d10 force damage.

    Feline Grace

Your limbs are made to withstand large impacts, allowing you to avoid damage by falls to an extent. If you would be victim to fall damage, you ignore up to 30ft of that fall for the purposes of reducing damage taken. Additionally, you can pounce directly upwards a distance of 20 feet by expending only 5 feet of movement. This does not work for diagonal movement, and you can only use this feature once per long rest.

    Cat’s Guile

You have proficiency in the Perception and Persuasion skills.
