Harrith's Journal

Having arrived at the building, it seems that my suspicions were well-founded. The building does indeed appear to be the creation of the Celestine Council.   Looking at the interior, it seems that it was left in a rather orderly fashion and has been unvisited for the past hundred years. Surprising, given that its passphrase isn't exactly the most difficult to guess, and its location is less than hidden.   I wonder what kinds of experiments were conducted here. The main laboratory is immensely large, and I'm unsure why that would be necessary.   This laboratory has equipment that seems suited to holding down massive creatures. Probably in order to cut them open. But why? I have seen texts that speak of rumours from other lands about our people gathering powerful creatures to create an army. I never thought those were true, but maybe there was something to them.   This certainly seems to point to the Celestine Council having done something, though I'm not sure what quite yet.   The offices upstairs are filled with information about what was happening, but it is all scattered in different books and behind various ciphers. It will take me some time to understand it all, but with time, I am sure I can make sense of this.   From what I can make out now, however, it seems like there were indeed experiments happening here. The subjects seem to have been creatures of various magic descent, one of the most recent logs detailing a green dragon having been captured, but experiments not yet having started. This probably means that there is some form of holding area here that I have not yet uncovered.   I will have to investigate further.   Well, I found the basement.   I was so curious that I forgot to write notes as I entered, but I discovered a hidden switch in the laboratory that pulled down a lift, preumably for transporting creatures.   In the floor below, I have found a series of cells, and though they were all locked, I discovered the passphrases in my search of the main office. I wish I hadn't.   When I opened the fifth one, the one I am in at this very moment, something rushed out past me. A cloud of ethereal energy, something I now believe to be the ghost of the green dragon formerly living here.   Presumably, the walls in here are warded against such being travelling through them, meaning it has been trapped here for quite some time. Apparently, me opening the door was everything it needed to escape and now I am shut in here instead.   I have tried to escape for what feels like days at this point, but it seems that surprisingly, these cells were not made to be easily escapable. In fact, they were made to keep stronger creatures than me locked up, as is evident by my inanimate draconic friend here.   I s...   The remaining pages of the notebook contain half-hearted sketches of various parts of the dragon's corpse and the walls of the cell.
