Sanne

Childhood   From a small westerly town, Garcia, Sanne was feared because of her natural link to 'Ki'. Fights became a natural part of her day, often versus multiple kids both bigger and uglier than her. She was sent by her mother (Ennas) and father (Mij), who wanted nothing to do with her troubles, to be 'fixed' by the monks at the Monastery of the Benevolent Truth.   The Monastery of the Benevolent Truth   The Monastery lies 2 miles to the north of Greatwell. Originally built with defence rather than comfort in mind, the hilltop stone keep has narrow windows, hard floors and little architectural style. The inhabitants unsuccessfully try to bring warmth to the blocky stark interiors with handmade tapestries and rugs. Originally built by gnomes, the monastery has an underground labyrinth of secret tunnels and tombs, culminating in its piece de la resistance: The Grand Library- a vast store of knowledge on many subjects of mystery and intrigue.   The monks of the Monastery of the Benevolent Truth are committed to preserving ancient texts through the collection, copying and safeguarding of long lost texts. Monks are often sent afield in search of texts of all kind, to continuously expand their library. The Monks bear symbols of the Dragon Turtle, to represent the vast and mystifying wealth of knowledge they have and will collect, through tattoos or crude imagery on clothing or necklaces.   Life at the Monastery   Upon being dumped at the Monastery at 13, Sanne was put under the tutelage of Nadrak Narokz, a silver Dragonborn and stickler for obscure traditions, whose staff meted out much punishment to his disobedient pupil. Sanne didn't seem to care for life at the monastery, but had nowhere else to go. Over time she was taught to control her Ki, and whilst her fighting style appeared to be chaotic and haphazard, to those with a more discerning eye it is methodical and oddly hypnotising.   Nadrak wasn't a patient master, but was kindly when Sanne did well, whilst clearly not appreciating being stuck with Sanne he did his duty and trained her until she was ready to be a fully fledged monk.   Life After Training   After becoming a fully fledged monk, Sanne spent as much time away from the Monastery as possible, ruing her time spent within those cold stone walls. As such, she has retrieved many texts and scrolls over the years, furthering the cause of the monastery.    As required by the monastery, Sanne got a tattoo upon graduating her training. But in true Sanne style, she ended up going for a large and garish tattoo as a small rebellion. After 18 excruciating hours under the needle, Sanne emerged with a full back tattoo of a beautifully shaded Dragon Turtle to mark her dedication to the cause.   After being denied many carnal pleasures during her youth, Sanne found a love for drinking, gambling and sleeping around. This resulted in her having 3 kids with 3 unknown fathers, each being dumped - similar to how she was- at the monastery, with her wanting as little contact with them as possible due to them reminding her of how she was treated as a child by her parents.   Fed up with her, the monastery now demands Sanne pays living costs for her kids, Jimmy (7), Saurus (4) and Mai (1), whilst still recovering texts. This resulted in her working for a Seeker named Grashnu, who would send her to far away places for work, allowing her to kill two birds with one stone.
