Gehret Zephyr

Overview

Gehret Zephyr is a former soldier in the Omicron Army, a former member of the Intergalactic Police Force, and a former member of the The Black Hawks.   During the Millennium War, he worked for both the Hawks and the silhadox as an information broker and mercenary.

Early Life

Zephyr was born in 3137 on Prestier. It is unknown what happened to his parents, but he grew up in a foster home with a family listed only as: the Clemens. He attended the local school in the town he grew up in and dropped out of secondary school to join the Omicron military.

Career

Omicron Military
Zephyr's first few years in the army were rough. It was learned here that he had been a rather sickly child, and the various bouts of illnesses he suffered during childhood affected his heart and lungs. He was nearly not accepted, but after a regalan colonel took pity on him and got him in to see a doctor to help with his conditions, he finally passed the physical. This did not make up for his physical attributes. He was far too thin and lanky and often got bullied and teased. This only made Zephyr more determined to prove himself.   When not training, Zephyr spent his time getting physically fit. He never made many friends, and those that did know a little about him always commented that he was odd. He was personable enough, but had an odd sense of humor and spoke about strange things that usually left people uncomfortable. His superior often wrote in his evaluations that he always seemed to be planning something, but as to what, no one knew. When he was finally allowed out into the field, he proved to be ruthless. So much so, in fact, that he was deemed a threat, and after only four years with the army, he was dishonorably discharged.
Intergalactic Police Force
After being kicked out of the military, Zephyr left for the Theta Quadrant to join the Intergalactic Police Force. Because he worked in the Theta Quadrant, they cared little about his standing in the Omicron Quadrant, despite multiple letters from the Omicron Military, urging them not to accept him. The IGP quickly realized their mistake, however, when it became evident that Zephyr all but refused to use anything but force in all situations, no matter the severity of the crime. He was discharged after a year and deported from the quadrant.
The Black Hawks
Zephyr finally found a home with the Black Hawks, although reports say that he even gave them a hard time. Zephyr was finally allowed to use as much force as he wanted and was trained to be a cut-throat. He did very well with the Hawks though he gave his superiors grief as he never wanted to listen to their orders. When it became apparent that Zephyr would work better independently, the Hawks contracted him out, letting him handle jobs in whatever way he saw fit while still staying loyal to the Hawks.   This new "freedom" led him to become an information broker and a mercenary, taking whatever jobs he could get and sending a cut back to the Hawks.   After the silhadox put out a bounty on Kansas Vantara and TR contacted Zephyr in regards to the filter/defense system codes for Eldev, did Zephyr finally become a big enough threat to get the Omicron Government involved. After many cloak and dagger ruses, TR passed on the filter/defense system codes to the silhadox, allowing them to finally invade Eldev. This ended the war with both the eldevians and silhadox crippled, but that did not stop the sils from tying up loose ends. Zephyr's legs were found Prema's moon not long after.

Post Millennium War and Beyond
It was believed that the silhadox had killed Zephyr, but that turned out not to be true. In 3206, Zephyr captured Kansas Vantara in order to give her some information regarding Teller Rane and her movements. Zephyr had no legs and was confined to a wheelchair, but he was very much alive and still very much in business. He had no regrets for what he had done to Vantara and her people, but he understood the repercussions of Rane's actions and wanted to help stop her.   Despite making it clear which side he was on, Zephyr did help stop Rane and her attempts to enter the Valnuir. During the commotion, however, Zephyr snuck away, never to be seen again.

Personal Life

Zephyr, at one point, was married, though what happened to his wife is unknown. All records of her ceased after he joined the Black Hawks, and no death certificate is on file. Any children he may have had is unknown.
