Khemet
Divine Domains
War
With very few exceptions, the most powerful and decorated veteran soldiers within Omiralon follow Khemet's path. For a devout believer of Khemet, there is no greater honor in the world than to be continually proving oneself on the battlefield. While rare, the most sought after asset in a war is a paladin of Khemet that has been persuaded to believe in a side's cause. The tales of such soldiers are legendary, typically ending in victory for that side. This aspect of the worship of Khemet is widely accepted and even praised in some areas of Omiralon, particularly in the central lands of the continent.
Destruction
To a follower of Khemet, war is the lifestyle, but success in a war means the destruction of the opposition. It is this aspect of devotion that is most feared by the inhabitants of Omiralon and the one that can lead to the exile of his believers from society. While it is not a common practice to do so, Khemet's followers are typically at the fringe of any society, and a particularly savage show of force can mean the difference between sleeping in a tavern and sleeping on the road. Despite this, followers of Khemet see such showings of force as their divine right and commandment, and will thus never shy away from such actions.
Volcanoes
It is said that the closest accord to Khemet can be found near the active volcanoes within the Worldspine Mountains and the Shattered Isles. The bravest of the warriors of Khemet make a pilgrimage to one of the volcanoes once they have fought in their first major skirmish, and proudly wear a modified sigil of Khemet showing a Morningstar head atop a mountain as a symbol of the feat. This pilgrimage, by the teaching of Ilzuan the Relentless, the first known and most legendary paladin of Khemet, requires a warrior who has already earned his morningstar to accompany and witness the climb. Those who attempt the journey and fail are said to be weak, not worthy of Khemet's blessing, and are killed.
Tenets of Faith
- Paradise is found within the eternal struggle.
- Upon the rubble of the conquered the strong shall stand.
- With the intensity of fire the warrior thrives, but a cooled soul is as dead as stone.
